"Empty Spaces" is an awarded academic work during my last year in University (2015). This job challenged me to understand why an heritage industrial area had so many properties unused. My goal was to think how could I give new meanings to the site and to the properties. My urban proposal plan was to reinvent the public space in this area - I started to imagine uses and occupations that could be given to this portion of land if there was no abandoned industrial deposits and parkings anymore. Based in that hypothesis I transformed this empty spaces in a continuous three kilometers pedestrian pathway - unusual sidewalk that crosses the streets and continues from train station to subway station, leading walkers by an informative and communicative floor-coating. The area that was underused before is now recognized by Sao Paulo's citizenships by giving them quality and security to walk freely around the industrial neighborhood.
