Rescuing Brutalist Architecture is an academic thesis that had subsidized the recognition of the Atletico Paulistano Club Gymnasium (1961) as a Brazilian brutalist architectural heritage.
Atletico Paulistano Club Gymnasium is the first builded design of Paulo Mendes da Rocha, prestigious awarded Pritzker-Prize Brazilian Architect.
The thesis worked a tool for the government and the architecture community through the process (2014 - 2018) of this building getting the recognition and repercussion it needed.
The Gimnasium is now considered a historical landmark in Sao Paulo, and has been restored since 2018.
